GFWC Polk County Woman's Club

GFWC Polk County Service Club is a community volunteer organization that is open to the public in Polk County to help with areas of concerns in the County.

GFWC Polk County Service Club was originally named Independence Woman's Club. It was formed to help the community by women who wished to volunteer. The original club helped build and provided the land for the 1st Public Library in Independence, Oregon. Currently the club has expanded to include all communities within Polk County. Signature project continues to be literacy and we are now working wi

th DHS on Foster Children by providing needed items to fill back packs so children who become new to the system will have something of their own. We are looking for volunteers to help in the community. Anyone willing to help the Club meets September to July on the 1st Thursday of the month starting at 6 pm. Come and see what we have as we have the only Woman's Clubhouse still in existence in Oregon.

The club has decided to cancel our plans for a spring/summer bazaar this year, due to the threat of COVID-19.

If you would like to be added to our list of vendors for future bazaars, please email us [email protected] and provide us with a brief description of your business as well as the best way to contact you.

GFWC Polk County Service Club is the official sponsor's of the Polk County Fair Talent Contest. We have 3 categories: 5 to 10, 11 to 17 and 18 and above. The first place winners in each category get an invitation to participate in the State Wide Contest at the State Fair. For more information go to our website: gfwcpolk.com.
