Independence Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. Independence Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. was founded on May 5, 1977. We also provide interfacility emergency and non emergency transports.

IVRS provides prehospital care to the sick and injured to the Town of Independence and surrounding Grayson County.

EMT Class notice!!! We are in desperate need for more volunteers at the squad. Our call volume has superseded our current amount of members. We only require EMT certifications and 24 hours a month commitment. To put paid staff in Pipers Gap it will increase the county budget by almost 1 million dollars, so if you are able to give back please sign up for this class!!!
