The Pacific Northwest Wildfire Coordinating Group (PNWCG) is urging the public, land users, and partner agencies to exercise the highest level of caution this weekend as the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Red Flag Warning for Saturday afternoon and evening across central and eastern Washington and Oregon. This rare designation is reserved for fire‑weather conditions that greatly exceed standard Red Flag criteria and pose significant danger to public safety, firefighters, and communities.

We have warming shelters. We have cooling stations. But where do folks go for clean air?

I’ve been advocating for two years, since I lived in Sisters and Crooked River Ranch.

Where are the homeless going to get out of harms way?

Wildfires are impacting communities across Oregon, and we want those affected to know: You are not alone.

We're also seeing the best of community in action. In Sisters, our partner Citizens4Community (C4C) had to set aside plans for its 10-year anniversary celebration due to the Akawa Butte Fire threatening the area. Instead, they hosted a “pay what you can” fundraiser using the venue and meals they'd planned. The event raised support for meals for first responders and neighbors in need.

It’s amazing what can and will happen when we dare God to be God. The posture of expectation leads to an experience with God while growing through hell.

Living in shame will never produce the offerings or the blessings only found in God. Shame does not produce power but exposes our fears of not feeling worthy of everlasting love.

Only the world requires us to live through the eyes of shame.

God can see us and love us in spite of our shame. We don’t have to be afraid to come to God because of our shame. The blood and covering of Jesus removed all shame, doubt and cast out all fear.

God just wants to love us. Only God can love us whole even when we’re broken, whereas the world exploits and takes delight in our brokenness.

I believe in God, wholeheartedly. I’ve been studying and walking in the word for twenty-one years.

I know it’s hard for some who have been broken and harmed by the religious spirit. I’m grateful I still have a heart wanting to know God instead of hating God for other people’s faults, as they lied on who God is. Remember, Jesus was not a Christian!

I am not holding a religious experience. We are building each other up. Encouraging ourselves in the word of God.

If it ain’t for you, it ain’t for you.

But imagine if we stopped talking about people and began praying for our neighbors AND changing old ways, old patterns, old thinking and outdated teaching.

You’re not going to hell for drinking. But we will stay in hell if we would rather live in shame than grace.
