As we celebrate women's day today, let's remember all the women who contributed to build Nevada's heritage over time:
From Dat So La Lee the artist basket weaver, Jeanne Wier, one of the founder of Nevada Historical society, ''Wild Horse Annie'' who advocated for the protection of our wild horses and Burros, or Ruby Duncan who marched on Las Vegas strip to restore the pride of the lower-class workers and their benefits.
And so many more who never became famous but contributed to the economy of Nevada by feeding miners, managing hotels and ranches, or spending 6 weeks in Reno to get a full divorce, fueling the economy of casinos, dude ranches and ball rooms at a time where being an independent woman was not at all a walk in the park.
Thank you to all the women in our state and beyond!
