June is recognized as PTSD Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and supporting those affected by trauma.
PTSD can impact anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event, including military veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and members of our community.
In emergency services, we are often present during some of the most difficult moments in a personβs life. While helping others is our mission, it is also important to recognize the emotional impact that these experiences can have on those who serve.
This month, we encourage open conversations about mental health, support for those who may be struggling, and the reminder that seeking help is a sign of strength.
If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of PTSD or emotional distress, know that support is available and you do not have to face it alone.
Together, we can help reduce stigma and promote healing through awareness, understanding, and support.
If you are experiencing a medical or emotional emergency please call 911- we are here for you!
