Mrs. Poole's 1st Grade Class!

Our first graders have been busy putting their author skills to work! ✏️📖

Students have been working on narrative writing, practicing how to brainstorm ideas and using graphic organizers to organize their thinking. They are learning that great writers take time to plan, organize, and bring their ideas to life! 💭📝

We have some authors in the making in Mrs. Poole’s class! 🌟📚💙💛

Mrs. Dye’s class has been working hard in small groups! 💪📖

In phonics, students are learning all about adding -ed to words to create past tense words. 📝🔤 They’ve also been working together to create and decorate their Boosterthon Fun Run flag! 🏃‍♂️🎨

We love seeing our students learn, collaborate, and show their creativity! 💙💛

These students received special recognition from their teachers and are selected each Friday morning by Mrs. Dalton. These students went above and beyond to demonstrate kindness, leadership, responsibility, and a willingness to help others.

Psssttttt….did you know that we have the most amazing art teachers at Harrisburg Elementary? Melissa Hinson hosted an “Adult Art Club” for our teachers today after school…and we had the best time creating together! The perfect way to relax and enjoy time with our friends…while learning a new style of art! It’s called Kinusaiga and uses fabric to create cool mosaics. Check it out!

Progress Reports are out today! Grades 2-4, check your parent portal to see how your child is doing in class! K-1, check your child’s folder for yours! 💙 A HUGE Thank You! 💛

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to Roch Girard and the Knights of Columbus for their incredible generosity and support of our Harrisburg Elementary students!

The Knights collected clothes and coats to help make sure our students have what they need to stay warm, comfortable, and ready to learn. Your kindness and willingness to give back to our school community truly makes a difference!

Due to the forecasted heat, we are changing the date of our Boosterthon Fun Run to help keep our students safe and comfortable. ☀️🥵

📅 NEW FUN RUN DATE: Tuesday, September 8, 2026!

We are so excited to see our Harrisburg Tomahawks running, cheering, and celebrating together! 🎉🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we make this change with our students’ safety in mind.
