Even if science books aren’t your thing, Breath by James Nestor might change your opinion... You might be thinking, “A book about breathing? Really?” But trust me, this isn’t just a health guide! There’s nothing more essential than breathing: take air in, let it out, repeat 25,000 times a day. Many things are connected to the way we breathe, such as blood pressure, bone density, facial structure, snoring, allergies, asthma, hypertension, psoriasis, crooked teeth...

I love how the author ties in science & history; especially the account of George Catlin, an attorney who’s failing health prompted him to spend 6 yrs. traveling the Great Plains in the early 1830s, meeting and living with 50 native tribes. I was intrigued by the research about ancient human remains in the catacombs too. This is an amazing book! We have several copies of Breath available for check out at the library! -Sandy
