View from Cabin #10 this am. Time for the Bowersock family reunion this weekend. The place is looking good and almost feels like home again. If you are in the area, stop by and say Hi.

Hello all - I just found The Landing's FB page and posted for people to come to this page if they remember the place from before. Hasn't been a lot of activity here since mom and dad (Edith and Bob Beatty) passed away, but I'm still hopeful that more people will share stories from Bowersock Camp.

On June 15th our family will gather at the cemetery in Indian River to inter my parent's ashes alongside previous generations of Bowersock's and Beatty's. Those of you who are local we are not having a formal service, just a graveside gathering at 11am on Saturday. Rest in Peace, Edith and Bob.

It seems very weird to be posting this on Facebook, but it’s probably the best way to get the news out far and wide and especially to all my family’s Ohio connections. Please share this information widely as we don’t have phone or addresses for most of you.

My dad, Robert (Bob) Beatty passed away late Monday night April 8, 2013. I’ll be posting an obituary to Facebook and into some papers within the next few days, but wanted to get the word out now. He would have turned 90 on April 24.

Nancy and I visited him on Saturday and he was smiling, happy to see us and told us to, “stay out of trouble” as we left. While knowing he was failing, we were surprised how quickly he declined over Sunday and into Monday. Under hospice care he passed peacefully.

You can send cards or letters to my mom, Edith, care of Jerry Beatty, 2286 Sandwood, Traverse City, MI 49684. Please do not send any flowers or plants as her health/ immune system does not allow her to have these in her room.

I would encourage you to post any pictures or share any stories here for all to read.

Robert and Edith's house (the last of the original "Bowersock" property) sold this summer. Very sad...property that had been in the family over 70 years has all been dispersed. As soon as I get a chance, I'll try to do an update note on Robert and Edith. Age is catching up with them. In the meantime - let's keep the original Bowersock Camp memories going - post pictures, share with friends you know who spent time here. There's gotta be some good fish stories out there! :) - cheryl

People who bought Grandma Bowersock's place have done MAJOR work, but kept the interior very much the same. Added skylights in the great room and put in a wood stove where front door used to be, added a sitting porch on back. Nice work.
