Nest news from IRB mile 1. Unfortunately N24 failed and CMA found 37 unhatched eggs. N42, N73, N106 seems to have hatched since they have been gone since last week. Not sure if they were successful though

New nest N367 in IS mile 2.

IRB mile 0 going north from Crabby Bills had 14 nests. Of these N5 hatched 2 days ago. There were 90 eggs hatched when CMA turtle patrol did the inventory. Welcome to the world new hatchlings, may you live long and prosper!

Two more nests in IRB mile 1 last night N347 and N349. Where is N348?

There are lot of false crawls in our area, where the female Loggerhead comes ashore and leaves without laying eggs. Best way to identify a nest is looking at the tracks. If she spends time laying eggs then the crawl back track is usually longer as the tide has gone out or the other way around if high tide came in.

Six new nests Mid June to early July IRB mile 1. Total of 18 nesta now this 1 mile stretch. Looks like reapeat visits from turtle moms starting now. They come 2 - 3 times to their birth place every other year.
