Hello, friends! What are some of your favorite outdoor activities during winter? Hiking, ice fishing, skiing, sledding...there are so many possibilities. Let us know your favorites in the comments! ❄️
Did you know that in the last 30 years we have:
🦅 Supported more than $10 million in conservation efforts
🌳 Helped acquire more than 10,000 acres of new public lands
🌰 Provided outdoor education opportunities to more than 300,000 Hoosiers
🚣 Introduced more than 100,000 Hoosiers to new outdoor recreation opportunities
We have accomplished these things thanks to generous donors that care about conservation, education and outdoor recreation. Please consider making a donation to our year-end fund, and show that you want to see projects like these continue to make a difference in Indiana. Donate: https://buff.ly/38Qs9lR

Thank you Duke Energy Foundation! What a difference this grant will make.
Projects include improvements to three parking lots, two new shelter houses featuring electric service and running water, signage and drainage improvements to the trail system and the addition of picnic tables and grills, among other features.
Calling all beer enthusiasts! Moontown Brewing Company created the first of a series of brews inspired by Indiana’s State Parks. A portion of sales from these Pints for Parks brews are generously donated to Indiana State Parks. The first brew is titled McCormick’s Creek in honor of the state’s first official State Park.
Supply is limited, and cans can be ordered in 4-packs which makes a nice Christmas gift, so get yours soon!🎄🍻💚
This McCormick’s Creek beer is described by the brewers as a hazy, juicy IPA built on their staple local Indiana Sugar Creek malt, boasted with oats, and loaded with Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops. Creamy fruits greet the nose, along with flavors of resinous pine mixed with citrus and berries, and finished with a smooth bitterness. It’s an adventure in the park for sure!
Looking for a Christmas gift with meaning? When you make a contribution to the INRF in honor or in memory of someone, you are gifting a legacy. Donations help fund wonderful projects, such as the Indiana Tree Project, Give Adventure Grant, or the Discover the Outdoors field trip grant. When making your donation, be sure to fill in the box titled “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of.” The name of your loved one will be recognized on our website. Make a donation: https://buff.ly/38Qs9lR
On this #GivingTuesday, show that you care by making a donation toward the INRF. Each donation makes a difference. Your contribution supports conservation, nature education and provides outdoor adventures to Hoosiers! Together, we can make a difference in Indiana that will impact generations for years to come. https://buff.ly/38Qs9lR
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at the INRF! Thank you to all of you who have supported conservation, education and outdoor recreation opportunities in Indiana. We are grateful. 🍁💛🦃
Tree Shirts are back! When you purchase one of these limited edition shirts for only $15, you help to reforest Indiana. For each shirt sold, the INRF partners with the Division of Forestry to plant a tree in an Indiana State Forest as part of the Indiana Tree Project. https://buff.ly/39cMCno
Along with each shirt, you will receive an official tree certificate with a unique tree ID and the coordinates for the acre where the tree will be planted.
These soft tees make excellent Christmas gifts! Order by December 6th to ensure your shirt will arrive in time for the holiday.
Today is the big day! Ethan Foster has been running/hiking without stopping since before dawn this morning. He will hike for 24 hours straight, all in an effort to raise money for the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation. If you are able, consider donating to Ethan’s campaign and help support conservation, education and outdoor recreational opportunities in Indiana. 🏃🏃🏃
Beginning on November 21, for 24 consecutive hours I will run and hike my way through Whitewate… Ethan Foster needs your support for Ethan's 24 Hour Challenge
In two weeks, Ethan Foster will hit the trails at Whitewater Memorial State Park for the hardest thing he’s ever done. For 24 hours, he will run/hike his way around the park with the goal of completing as many miles as possible. AND along the way he will raise funds for the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation! 🏃
Ethan is pledging $2 for every mile he runs in 24 hours, and he is also taking donations from those that wish to contribute to his efforts. If you are unable to give monetarily, consider sharing this post and spread the word about this young man’s awesome goal!

Approximately 5,000 native trees will be planted in Indiana state forests, thanks to a $25,000 “Powerful Communities” grant presented by the Duke Energy Foundation to the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation and its Indiana Tree Project initiative.
The Indiana Tree Project is a joint effort between the INRF and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, as well as citizens and businesses throughout the state, to plant new trees and promote healthy forests. A tree planting day will be scheduled in the spring. Volunteers from Duke Energy and DNR will participate in the planting.

Smokey wants everyone to know it's Fire Prevention Week. Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 9th. Here is a friendly reminder to be aware of weather conditions and possible risks when building a campfire outdoors. Remember - only you can prevent forest fires!
Today is National Flower Day! Flowers play an important role in pollination, and pollinator gardens are a great way to enjoy beautiful blooms while also helping in the conservation of nature. Learn more about what the INRF does to promote conservation and how you can help. https://buff.ly/3baO3RU
National Public Lands Day is Saturday, September 26, and during that weekend Hoosiers can celebrate by supporting their favorite DNR property by doing volunteer work or simply visiting.
National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort involving public lands. On Sunday, Sept. 27, Indiana State Parks, Indiana State Forests, and State Recreation Areas will offer free admission where entrance fees are normally charged.
The entire weekend serves as a reminder that public lands are places for outdoor recreation, conservation, and making memories with families and friends. Check with your local state park for volunteer opportunities this weekend. Consider making a donation toward the support and acquisition of public lands as well. https://www.indiananrf.org/one-time-gift-form/
Keep your eye out for this on the road, folks! Exciting to see the trailer is ready for the GoBikeIN beginner mountain bike workshops at Brown County State Park. Visit indiananrf.org to learn more about the mountain bike workshops and the Give Adventure grant.

Year of the Outdoors Shows Growing Need for Public Outdoor Spaces
Did you know that only 4% of Indiana’s land is public and accessible to anyone who wishes to spend time outdoors? With 96% of Indiana’s land being private, little space is left for protected wildlife and areas where people can recreate. One of the INRF’s main priorities is to increase the publ...

In two days, we celebrate Independence Day in the USA. It's a time when many people venture outdoors to celebrate. Here's a friendly reminder to be respectful of the nature and wildlife that call these lands home, too. Clean up trash and debris from picnics and fireworks, and keep your pets inside in case the booming fireworks scare them. Have a happy 4th of July!
