Extreme heat is expected throughout the week. We’re sharing this important resource from Indy Parks so neighbors and community partners know where to find cooling centers across Indianapolis.

Please check locations and hours before heading out, and share this information with anyone who may need a safe place to cool down.

We hate to break it to you if you haven't looked at the weather for this week yet, but it's going to be a hot one with highs in the 90's every day this week. Our Indy Parks Centers will be available as cooling centers this week, with most open until 8pm. You can find the full list of locations and hours here: parks.indy.gov/extremeweather

Our motivation looked a little different today.

Sometimes inspiration isn’t something we have to search for, it’s already all around us.

It’s in the outreach worker who keeps showing up. The case manager who refuses to give up on someone. The housing provider who finds a way through one more barrier. The advocate who keeps pushing. The partner who asks, “What can we do?” — and then does it.

Across Indianapolis, people and organizations are doing extraordinary work every day alongside our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

As our CEO Chelsea Haring-Cozzi reminds us: “It takes all of us to make an impact on homelessness.”

On September 24, we’re making time to celebrate the providers, partners, advocates, neighbors, and community members whose compassion, persistence and collaboration are moving Indianapolis Closer to Home.

Come be part of a night that reminds us not only how much work remains, but how much is possible when we do it together.

As Indianapolis responds to changes brought by Indiana's public camping ban, it's more important than ever to remember that ending homelessness takes more than clearing encampments. At CHIP Indy, we remain committed to bringing partners together to advance permanent housing solutions, strengthen coordinated outreach, and ensure every neighbor has the opportunity to find a place to call home.

Big milestone for Streets to Home Indy: more than 200 individuals are now housed.

Thanks to strong cross-sector collaboration, the initiative has also completed the closure of four additional encampments while connecting residents to housing and services. We’re also proud to share that Phase 1 is now fully funded at $8.1 million.

This is what progress looks like when a community invests in housing-focused solutions.
