Established in 1974, INPEA is a membership association representing a variety of faith-based and independent Preschool-12 schools across the state.

We are proud to be the Hoosier Voice for Quality Schools! The Indiana Non-Public Education Association (INPEA) promotes the highest academic standards and provides a Hoosier voice for quality schools through advocacy, consultation, and professional development. INPEA promotes the rights of parents to educate their children in the schools of their choice and advocates for the rights of non-public schools to fulfill their unique missions and for non-public school students to participate in appropriate state and federal education programs. INPEA provides updated resources on state and federal education programs and keeps the non-public school community informed of relevant issues. We support school leaders who need guidance and are available to school leadership teams and boards for presentations on state non-public school issues. Each year, INPEA hosts an annual conference for non-public educators (INPEC) or administrators (INPAC). We also provide opportunities for the sharing of best-practices and professional development workshops on topics like school choice, public policy advocacy, and new state regulations.

Earlier this month, the latest group of Indiana Blue Ribbon Schools were celebrated at IDOE’s Educational Excellence Awards Gala. Of the 16 schools to receive this honor, INPEA is proud to have five member schools recognized. Congratulations again to Bethany Christian Schools, Evansville Christian School, Faith Christian School of Lafayette Indiana, South Bend Hebrew Day School, and Saint Paul Catholic School.

Wishing our INPEA member schools a happy and restful fall break!

As we reach the heart of the fall season, many of our schools will have their fall breaks. We hope students, teachers, administrators, and school staff enjoy a well-deserved opportunity to slow down, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.

Thank you for all you do each day to support your school communities and the students and families you serve. We hope your fall break brings plenty of rest, joy, and a little autumn fun!

With Election Day approaching, we wanted to remind our schools of the American history competency requirements in Indiana code. Per IC 20-30-5-4, within the two weeks preceding a general election, all non-public school students in grades 6-12 should have five full class periods of discussion concerning:

(1) the system of government in Indiana and in the United States;
(2) methods of voting;
(3) party structures;
(4) election laws; and
(5) the responsibilities of citizen participation in government and in elections.

Last week, Governor Braun and Dr. Katie Jenner announced the honorees of the Indiana Blue Ribbon Schools designation. INPEA is proud to have five member schools recognized. Congratulations to Bethany Christian School in Goshen, Evansville Christian School in Newburgh, Faith Christian School in Lafayette, South Bend Hebrew Day School in South Bend, and St. Paul Catholic School in Valparaiso.
