The IMPD Mounted Patrol Unit had a fantastic day supporting race‑day safety at the Indianapolis 500. Our officers and horses enjoyed connecting with fans and even had the chance to meet former New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski. Proud to represent our city at one of the world’s biggest racing events.

The IMPD Mounted Patrol Unit was out at Carb Day yesterday keeping fans safe and enjoying the energy leading into race weekend. We are getting ready to head downtown for the Indianapolis 500 Parade. We’ll see you again on Race Day at the Indianapolis 500.

Thank you ARCO Design/Build!

Indianapolis Metro Police Department Mounted Patrol's newest recruit ARCO made his first community appearance at the Indianapolis Southeast Community Day on May 13, and he was a star from start to finish.

For his very first detail, it was a long day, but ARCO handled it like a pro. From meeting families to getting plenty of pets from kids, nothing seemed to faze him.

While ARCO is still young, he’s hard at work learning, training, and building confidence in the community. We can’t wait to watch him grow into his role with IMPD Mounted Patrol.
