🏆 Leadership in safety often happens long before an incident is prevented. It is built through preparation, consistency, and a genuine commitment to protecting others. The L.L. Larson Safety Award recognizes an individual whose influence has created a safer course for those around them.

Education is always a top priority at the IWEA Annual Conference. With 89 break out educational sessions this year, plenty of opportunities to technical CEUs, and even research projects presented by students from Purdue University, we delivered another diverse set of insights, new technology and helpful case studies. 🏆 The John M. Craddock Award recognizes outstanding contributions that strengthen both our profession and our environment through contributions in industrial wastewater and pretreatment.

Congratulations to Kim Thompson for being selected this year for this honor. Thank you for your dedication to technical leadership, service to the profession, and the willingness to help others navigate complex questions.

🏆 "The Operator of the Year Award will be presented to an individual operator of a municipal public, semi-public, or private Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). The ideal candidate will have made a long-standing contribution to the success of his/her WRRF, service that goes above-and-beyond the requirements of the position, and a positive attitude that others look to."

This year, our O&M Committee had a hard time picking just one of the individuals nominated. With so many excellent candidates to choose from, we decided this year to award a winner in each class of facility. Congratulations to Jeff Farmer, Jim Kerezman, and Scott Hunsucker! Thank you for your dedication to protecting Indiana's water.

Each year at our Annual Conference, we host a fundraiser for Water For People. This year, attendees were able to participate in an on theme guessing game for a chance to win one of the coveted prizes donated from our exhibitors, Nautical De-DUCK-tions .

We had so much fun and were so encouraged by the generous donations from our participants. Here is a round-up of all of our lovely winners.

🏆 Last week we mentioned the Honorary Member is not awarded every year. Well today's winner is also in that boat. Founded in 2024, the Advocate Award is used to recognize groups who go the extra mile to support IWEA and the wastewater community at large.

This year, we are so happy to thank Merrell Bros., Inc. for all they do for IWEA with this honor. Congratulations, team and thank you for everything you do!

🏆 The Honorary Membership Award is one we don't give out every year. "An Honorary Member shall be a person of acknowledged eminence in one or more fields of activity within the scope of the stated objectives of the Association."

This year, we are thrilled to have awarded Gary Ruston from Wessler Engineering with this prestigious honor. Congratulations, Gary and thank you for everything you have done for IWEA.
