Avian Health Programs @ Indiana State Board of Animal Health

Animals serve important roles in the lives of all Hoosiers. They provide food, income, recreation, companionship and assistance to millions of people everyday. Indiana state lawmakers recognized the value of those relationships in 1889, when they formed the Office of the State Veterinarian and the Livestock Sanitary Commission.

Today, that commission is known as the Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) and operates under the direction of an 11-member board of animal-industry professionals who meet quarterly to set agency policy in four mission areas:

-Animal Health
