💛 Happy Mother’s Day 💛

Today, we honor the strength, love, and resilience of mothers in our community.

At Indianola Freedom House and Indianola Freedom House Charities, we witness every day how a mother’s love can uplift families, overcome challenges, and create lasting change. Many of the women we serve are not only caring for others, they are rebuilding, healing, and rising with courage.

To every mother, grandmother, and mother figure:
We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you.

Your love is powerful. Your sacrifices matter. And your impact reaches further than you know.

💛 From all of us at Indianola Freedom House & Indianola Freedom House Charities, Happy Mother’s Day! 💐

If you believe in supporting stronger families and a stronger community, we invite you to stay connected, share our mission, and support the work we do.

Some people don’t just live…they serve, they uplift, and they leave a mark that time can’t erase.

We’re honoring a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to helping others and standing on the front lines of what was right.

In the late 1960s, Margaret Kibbee came to the Indianola, Mississippi, to join the fight for civil rights at a time when courage wasn’t convenient and justice came at a cost.

She stood alongside my grandfather, Estell “Tide” King, and so many others who believed in something bigger than themselves. Because of people like her, doors opened, voices were heard, and lives, like mine, are better today.

Her life was a quiet kind of powerful. The kind rooted in service, sacrifice, and love for community.

May we never forget what she gave.
May we honor her by how we live.
And may her legacy continue to speak for generations to come.

Rest well. You did your part, and you did it beautifully.

Whew! What an eventful two days‼️
A few of us Mississippi Freedom House owners got our first certification in nonprofit organization thanks to the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy, Mississippi Heritage Trust, and Mellon Foundation! 👩🏽‍🎓
We also attended the 11th annual unveiling of the top 10 most endangered historic places in MS. Saw a lot of familiar faces! It was like a family reunion.
Thank you to all the great folks that made these two days possible! ☺️
