Today we celebrated a historic achievement at Thomas Jefferson Middle School! For the first time in school history, 122 students—63% of our English Learners—demonstrated at least one level of growth on the ELPAC assessment.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and perseverance. Thank you to our families for your unwavering support, our special guests for joining us in celebration, and our dedicated teachers and staff who help make student success possible every day.

¡Hoy celebramos un logro histórico en Thomas Jefferson Middle School! Por primera vez en la historia de nuestra escuela, 122 estudiantes, el 63% de nuestros Aprendices de Inglés, demostraron al menos un nivel de crecimiento en la evaluación ELPAC.

What a great week to be a Jaguar!

On Tuesday, May 26, Thomas Jefferson Middle School had the honor of welcoming Mayor Elaine Holmes from the City of Indio to our campus. Mayor Holmes personally recognized our Drone Soccer International Champions and their coach, Mr. Lopez, for their incredible achievement on the world stage. Thank you, Mayor Holmes, for taking the time to celebrate our students and their success.

We are also excited to share that Mr. Lopez has been selected as the recipient of the KESQ and Walter Clark “One Classroom at a Time” award! This recognition highlights the passion, dedication, and innovation Mr. Lopez brings to our students every day.

Thomas Jefferson Middle School is proud to celebrate the remarkable success of its seventh-grade robotics team at the recent Botball tournament. Competing against a diverse field of middle and high school students from San Diego, Los Angeles, PSUSD, and DSUSD, our students demonstrated exceptional technical and interpersonal skills, securing two trophies and a prestigious Judges’ Choice certificate. The highly competitive, fully autonomous tournament required months of dedication from the students, who built and programmed a robot to execute complex tasks while also excelling in an unrehearsed oral presentation before a panel of adult judges.

La Escuela Secundaria Thomas Jefferson se enorgullece de celebrar el notable éxito de su equipo de robótica de séptimo curso en el reciente torneo Botball. Al competir contra un grupo variado de estudiantes de secundaria y bachillerato de San Diego, Los Ángeles, el PSUSD y el DSUSD, nuestros alumnos demostraron unas habilidades técnicas e interpersonales excepcionales, consiguiendo dos trofeos y un prestigioso certificado «Judges’ Choice».
