CVHC has developed two (2) After-School Kids Clubs to help school-age residents with their homework, reading, and social enrichment. The Clubs provide youth with a safe, supportive environment after school when most parents are working.

The Kids Clubs are located at:

Paseo de Los Heroes II and III Apartments in Mecca
Villa Hermosa I, II, III, and Fred Young Apartments in Indio

All after-school Kids Clubs are operated by Desert Recreation District and are open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM & on minimum days on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 5.00 PM

CVHC ha creado dos (2) clubes infantiles para después de la escuela con el fin de ayudar a los residentes en edad escolar con sus tareas, la lectura y el enriquecimiento social. Estos clubes ofrecen a los jóvenes un entorno seguro y de apoyo al terminar la jornada escolar, momento en el que la mayoría de los padres se encuentran trabajando.

Los clubes infantiles se encuentran en:

Apartamentos Paseo de Los Héroes II y III, en Mecca
Apartamentos Villa Hermosa I, II y III, y Fred Young, en Indio

Todos los clubes infantiles son operados por el Desert Recreation District y funcionan los martes, jueves y viernes de 2:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m., así como los miércoles de horario reducido (días de salida temprana) de 2:00 p. m. a 5:00 p. m.

On September 30, 2026, CVHC proudly celebrated the successful conclusion of another Mutual Self-Help group in Brawley, California. The Mutual Self-Help Program stands as one of the nation’s leading homeownership initiatives, tailored specifically for hard working families and individuals. Funded by the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, this program empowers families to work together in building their homes, with guidance, training, and supervision provided by the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition.

Congratulations to the eleven (11) dedicated families from Brawley Group 12 who completed their homes and received their Certificates of Occupancy. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Single-Family staff for their unwavering commitment to helping these families realize their dream of homeownership.

CVHC Board Members Retreat: Shaping the Next Three Years!

Our CVHC Board members and Leadership team recently came together for an inspiring Retreat focused on our new Three-Year Strategic Plan: “Shaping the Next Three Years.”

It was a great opportunity to connect, celebrate our past work, share ideas, and look toward the future together.

As we look ahead, our roadmap is clear: Build the Foundation, Accelerate Growth, Achieve Excellence. Looking to the future with optimism and determination, we recognize the importance of each step we take in realizing our vision for the CVHC community. Our focus will be on fostering innovation, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring sustainability in all our affordable housing production endeavors. The retreat has strengthened us, setting the stage for transformative growth that not only aligns with our strategic plan but also reflects our core values of integrity, people, community, service, and responsibility.

The commitment to our mission remains steadfast as we strive to provide high-quality housing solutions and opportunities for all. We are excited to embark on this journey with renewed energy and a shared sense of purpose, knowing that our collective efforts will lead to improved lives for our residents and a more enriched future for the families we serve.

Let us continue to inspire one another and work hand in hand to overcome challenges, celebrate successes, and ultimately, make a lasting impact in the communities we serve. Together, we are shaping not just the next three years, but a legacy of hope and opportunity for generations to come.

Event Details:

• Date: October 1, 2026
• Location: Indio Youth Opportunity Center (44-199 Monroe Street, Indio, CA 92201)

• Final Entry Time: 1:30 PM

This event will be open to young adults ages 18 - 24. Local employers will be conducting on-site interviews, with the chance to get hired on the spot.

Positions & Requirements:
• Security Officer: HS Diploma, CA Guard Card, and valid Driver's License required.

• Behavior Technician: HS Diploma and a passion for working with youth required.
