Tonight our Rotary Club had the honor of awarding $11,500 in scholarships to students from Shadow Hills High School. What made the evening even more special was that many of these students were members of Interact, showing their commitment to service, leadership, and community involvement at such a young age.

Each scholarship recipient also received a Rotary honor cord to recognize their dedication and service throughout their high school journey. Seeing these students continue their education while carrying Rotary values with them makes us incredibly proud.

Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients. Your hard work, leadership, and commitment to your community truly stood out, and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. 💙💛

Avi Rodriguez, executive director of student engagement and completion at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, was featured on KESQ News Channel 3 this weekend in a special Mother’s Day story. 💐

Avi exemplifies what it means to balance family, career and service. Her dedication shines not only in her professional life, but also in the way she shows up for her family and community.

As a mother, she is a powerful role model for her daughter - leading by example through hard work and perseverance.

Her commitment reflects the true spirit of our Coyotes who give back and uplift our community every day. 🐺🐾💙

Today, the Rotary Club of Indio had the honor of dedicating a flagpole in memory of Dr. Roger Harris, a longtime Indio resident, Rotarian, and true servant of our community.

Dr. Harris spent more than 40 years caring for Indio as a dentist and giving back through youth programs, local schools, and six decades of service with the Rotary Club of Indio. His commitment to service and community left a lasting impact on so many lives.

It was meaningful to come together with the Harris family, community members, and city leaders to honor his legacy. This flagpole will stand as a reminder of the values Dr. Harris lived every day and the difference one person can make.

Thank you to the City of Indio, our Mayor and City Council, and everyone who joined us to make this dedication so special.
