Inez Bike Route is a 2.1 mile route through the town of Inez, KY. The Route is not only used for cycling but also as a walk/run route. It is utilized for 5K Runs. Following the Inez Bike Route for 3 times will be 6.3 miles, which is equivalent to a 10K bike. The Route begins at the Roy F Collier Community Center. (If you do not have a bike, the Community Center has bikes available for rent.) We ha
ve a wooden kiosk set up beside the front entrance. The kiosk contains information about the route, including route maps. In addition to the Main Route, we have established a recommended alternate route for young children. The alternate route minimizes the time young children would spend on Main Street. We have route markers in place on signposts and painted along the route. The Kentucky Department of Transportation has posted "Share the Road" signs in order to make drivers aware of the bike route. Taking a left from the Community Center parking lot, proceed on Main Street for approximately a half mile until reaching Cardinal Lane. Take a right onto Cardinal Lane. This will take your by the Martin County Swimming Pool and Ray Fields Park. After passing the pool, you will see a paved multi-purpose path on the right. It is located just behind the shelter. The path is uphill. Make sure to use your gears just right to make a smooth ride up the hill. Once you reach the top of the hill, you are on Cassidy Avenue. Proceed downhill to the intersection with Wickerfield Road. Make sure to observe the Stop Sign. If you needed to return to the Community Center, you could make a right on Wickerfield, proceed back to Main Street, then make a left onto Main to the Community Center. Making a left at the intersection of Cassidy and Wickerfield will continue you on the Inez Bike Route. Follow Wickerfield until it ends at the intersection with Old Middlefork Road (Route 3). This will be at the Martin County Senior Citizens Center. Make a right onto Old Middlefork Road. Cross the bridge and stop at the Stop Light. Make a right onto Main Street. Continue for approximately a half mile until you reach the Roy F. Collier Community Center.
