You’re Invited!

Our Neighborhood Community Door-Knocking March is Saturday, March 17th! IUSD has scheduled many events and is participating in multiple initiatives to transform the district. The Community March is one activity, scheduled in phases based on geographic location, which will be extended to all school locations.

During the March, we are focusing on Oak, Crozier and Inglewood High School. We need your help to spread the word on all of the new opportunities in IUSD. We tell our story best and it must be shared with the community. These outreach campaigns will help to raise our profile, create a positive image and attract students to the district. I hope you can come! If you would like to add anything to our gift bags that we are providing to our community, please drop off items at the Inglewood Unified School District or send to 401 S. Inglewood Ave. Inglewood, Ca. 90305.

Can you spare 2 hours on Saturday morning? If so, please RSVP so we can know who is coming! Dress comfortable and wear your tennis shoes! Morning refreshments, water and a light lunch will be available, but you need to RSVP!

Last night, parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community members gathered at Inglewood High School to share their vision for school renovations, discuss 21st Century classroom designs, explore costs and benefits, and help prioritize long awaited projects for Inglewood High. “We have been waiting for this for a long time,” stated one community member and former IUSD alumnus. Various construction projects are starting pre-construction planning this spring for schools across the Inglewood Unified School District. According to the Master Plan, IUSD pre-construction scheduling will take a minimum of 18 months with four phases: programming, design, review and approval from the Division of State Architect (DSA), and bids for construction. During the first phase, each school site will be reviewed with input from the district and community for ideas on what construction improvements can and should be done to achieve the best results.
