Why do we need the Asian American Freedom PAC?
Asians are a diverse group that has steadily grown over the past decade to become a leading force in our nation. As an immigrant community, we are acutely aware of the blessing that America has been for those who arrive on her shores. The Asian population in the U.S. is just over 20 million and comes from over 20 countries where language and cultures are quite diverse.
We understand that success through hard work, education and personal achievement is why many choose to settle in America. In gratitude, many choose to give back to the country that has been so good to them whether it is through charitable works or public service.
Asians don’t often view politics as a career path and we therefore are often under-represented in statewide and national races. We believe it is important to recruit, train and fund AAPI candidates to serve our respective communities and to increase our voice in D.C.
Presently, there are no PACS in the U.S. that assist AAPI conservative candidates running for statewide or national campaigns. The other Asian PACs contribute solely to Democrat AAPI candidates. We believe that there should be equal access to funding sources for all candidates who chose to run for elective offices regardless of political ideology.
