The Sunset Country Métis Community is comprised of the Métis citizens within the Rainy River District. Our Community is located within the Métis Nation of Ontario's Region 1. The local Council is an important communication hub for the Métis Nation of Ontario and plays a significant role in fostering community empowerment and development for our Métis citizens.

Red Dress Day (May 5th) is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people.

Red dresses serve as a visual symbol to remember victims, representing their absence, and a call for justice.

Please join us for a free virtual workshop in celebration of Earth Day. This workshop will be a virtual gathering where we will plant seedlings together. While planting, we will also discuss the benefits of eating healthy, fresh produce, and how to care for a small vegetable garden. Gardening supplies will be provided prior to the workshop for those who register.
