What an incredible day at our event! In addition to the beautiful weather, the fish were biting all day long.

The kids had an absolute blast, and what made the day even more special was that many of them were experiencing fishing for the very first time. Seeing their excitement and smiles made the event a huge success.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, who continue to help make these opportunities available for local youth. Each child went home with a new fishing rod, a Bass tackle kit, an Eagle Claw tackle kit, a Minnesota DNR goodie bag, and lunch from Cane's.

A heartfelt thank you to the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association, The Corner Store, Hometown Sweets, IGH Walmart, and the Minnesota DNR for their continued support.

Are you considering a career in law enforcement?
The Inver Grove Heights Police Department is offering an exciting learning opportunity and a chance to serve your community this summer!

IGH PD is seeking outgoing and reliable candidates for Police Cadet positions. Police Cadets work under the direction of the on-duty Police Sergeant and gain valuable experience utilizing a community-oriented policing philosophy. You’ll work with community members and sworn police personnel to identify public safety issues and resolve problems and concerns.

As a Police Cadet, you’ll:
Respond to animal control and complaints
Work with property and evidence techs
Provide traffic control and parking enforcement
Perform residential home checks, as directed
You’ll also to get to know the IGH PD and the many opportunities available to officers who join the department!

This position will work an average of 16 hours per week and does not require licensing as a peace officer. The hiring range is $23.59-$29.75 hourly.

We would like to thank Thomson Reuters for inviting us to their Build-A-Bike event. It was a great day! How many cops does it take to build a bike? Alot! It was awesome to see police departments from all over the metro come together for this event. Shout out to Freewheel Bike in Eagan for bringing all the bikes and helmets and thank you for fixing what we put together. 😄
We were able to give several of the bikes away today from our open house drawing!

It’s that time of year again! Cops and Bobbers will be held at Lions Park on June 1st from 5:00–7:00 PM.

Please note that registration does not guarantee participation, as this event is extremely popular. Priority may be given to children who have not participated in the event before. Our goal is to provide kids who have never had the opportunity to fish a chance to experience the fun and excitement.

We encourage everyone to register, regardless of past participation or fishing experience. To register your child or if you have any questions, please contact Sgt. Prail.
