🇺🇸 Join us on September 11th at 8:30 AM at the Depot Pavilion in Liberty Park for a 25th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony honoring the 25th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

We also encourage visitors to take a moment to visit the 9/11 Memorial Monument located at Liberty Park as part of this day of remembrance.

Following the ceremony, continue the tribute at the Valerie Theatre for the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Exhibit, featuring Florida’s largest collection of 9/11 memorabilia provided by the National Association of Retired Law Enforcement Officers (NARLEO).

PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Inverness advises motorists that Duke Energy will be conducting electrical grid enhancement projects on Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19, along South Citrus Avenue and West Grace Street in the vicinity of the hospital. The work will require periodic single-lane closures between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

On Friday, August 21, Duke Energy will be conducting grid enhancement work along East Gulf to Lake Highway, in front of Withlacoochee Technical Institute (WTI), between South Boulevard and South Montgomery Avenue. The work will require a single-lane closure from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Additionally, on Friday, August 21, Duke Energy will ALSO conduct work along West Main Street in front of 1795 West Main Street. A single-lane closure will be in place from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Crews will be on site to direct traffic and maintain access throughout the duration of all work.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zones, follow traffic-control directions, and expect minor delays.

🎒 That’s a wrap on the 2026 Back to School Bash! 👏

A little rain couldn’t stop the fun! We had a fantastic turnout at this year’s Back-to-School Bash, with families joining us for games, school supply giveaways, community resources and plenty of back-to-school excitement.

Thank you to everyone who came out despite the weather, and to all of our community partners who helped make this event possible. Events like this are a great reminder of how much our community shows up for local students and families.
