Last week, we officially closed the book on another successful school year. But around here, reflection quickly turns to preparation and we are already shifting gears for the 2026–2027 school year with some exciting improvements!

After more than a decade with Skyward Student, our district is making the official move to Focus School Software, a modern, streamlined student information system designed to better serve our students, families, and staff.

Since 2012, Skyward has been a trusted tool for supporting our schools and families. However, as our district continues to grow and evolve, we are thrilled to transition to this new student information platform.

Citrus County Schools is proud to offer the Summer Feeding Program throughout June and July, providing FREE breakfast and lunch to all children 18 years old and younger.

🍎 No registration required
📍 Multiple locations throughout Citrus County
🥪 Breakfast and lunch available
💲 No cost for children 18 and under

⚠️ Please note: All meals must be consumed on site in accordance with Summer Feeding Program guidelines.

The Citrus County School District's Marine Science Station is very grateful for the ongoing financial support of the TOO FAR Water & Natural Resources Foundation, Inc.! Their generous grants help support educational activities for our local students who participate in field experiences in our local waterways. Thank you, TOOFAR!!

Today, we celebrate three outstanding Citrus County educators who graduated from the Chancellor's Leadership Academy, a prestigious year-long program hosted by the Florida Department of Education that brings together educational leaders from across the state to strengthen instructional leadership and support student success.

With Florida's Second Chance Act taking effect, ECG screenings are now required for many student-athletes participating in FHSAA sports during the 2026–2027 school year. More importantly, this quick, non-invasive screening can help detect potentially life-threatening heart conditions before they become a tragedy.

❤️ 1 in 300 youth have a detectable heart condition.
❤️ Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the #1 cause of death on school campuses.
❤️ A standard sports physical can miss these conditions, while an ECG can help identify them.

✔ Incoming 9th-grade student-athletes
✔ Students in grades 10–12 participating in an FHSAA sport for the first time
