The new Citrus County Animal Services facility is coming in fall 2027!

Animal Services is more than a place where animals are housed; it is a critical public service operation. The Animal Services team helps reunite lost pets with their families, supports adoptions, provides lifesaving medical care, responds to animal cruelty and neglect cases, and works with community partners to strengthen education, outreach, and responsible pet ownership.

We're grateful for all our staff, volunteers and community partners, who work together to care for thousands of animals each year. Thank you to our Commissioners, Senator Ralph Massullo, District 11, Citrus County Animal Services staff and volunteers, the Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection, the ASPCA, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, and everyone else who attended!

The animals in our care are seriously feeling the love of this community ❤

As our team continues long days of caring for and rehabilitating the goats, sheep, and horses from a large neglect case, we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received. From monetary donations to much-needed supplies, your generosity is making a real difference for these animals every single day.

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we currently have the supplies we need for these animals. If you'd still like to support their recovery, monetary donations are the most impactful way to help. Donations allow us to provide the continued need for bedding, hay, veterinary care, farrier work, medications, and ongoing rehabilitation these animals will need in the weeks and months ahead.

Thank you for standing with us. No matter the challenge, our commitment remains the same: to do what is best for the animals who need us most.
