ROAD CLOSURE - EB LANES HWY 44 - INVERNESS

Deputies with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office are on-scene of a vehicle accident near Apopka Marine in Inverness. Both eastbound lanes of Highway 44 (E Gulf to Lake Hwy) are closed at this time from Croft Avenue to Smith Avenue.

Please use an alternate route if possible and allow first responders room to clear the area.

Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputies are currently on scene of a vehicle accident located on Hwy 44 (E Gulf to Lake Hwy) in front of Love Chevrolet and Outback Steakhouse. Today, June 18, 2026, Major Bobby Lambert graduated as a member of the 298th session of the FBI National Academy.

The FBI National Academy (FBINA) is one of the premier law enforcement training programs in the world. 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘺 1% 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥’𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘸 𝘦𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘭 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮. The FBINA was established in 1935 to provide advanced investigative, management, and fitness training to senior law enforcement officers who are proven leaders within their organizations. The graduation ceremony was held at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, earlier this morning.

“𝙄’𝙢 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙟𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙤𝙗𝙗𝙮 𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝘽𝙄 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮,” said Sheriff David Vincent. “𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮.”

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have decades of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Major Lambert began his law enforcement career in 2004 and joined the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office the following year, serving in a variety of operational and supervisory roles as he advanced through the ranks. A United States Marine Corps combat veteran, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and has completed several advanced leadership programs, including the Southern Police Institute’s Administrative Officer’s Course. He now serves as the Law Enforcement Bureau Commander and continues to contribute to statewide training and professional development efforts.

On 6/17/2026, Alicia Dumire was reported as a missing adult to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Alicia is described as a 25-year-old Hispanic female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen on 5/30/2026, in the area of Homosassa. Her direction of travel and destination are currently unknown.

This bulletin is for public notification that registered Sexual Predator Joseph Stevens has moved to 6327 W Craft Lane, Homosassa. His qualifying offense is Lewd Or Lascivious Molestation Victim Under 12 Years Offender 18 Or Older
Mr. Stevens is currently on probation with the following conditions:Not to live within 1,000 feet of where children congregate or to be in the presence of a child under the age of 18 without adult supervision. Curfew of 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, subject is on GPS Monitor and other conditions may apply.

MISSING RUNAWAY JUVENILE- MATTHEW MONDAY

On June 17, 2026, Matthew Monday was reported to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office as a missing runaway juvenile. Matthew is a 14-year-old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 150 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen on June 17, 2026 at 3:30 AM in Beverly Hills. Matthew was last seen a gray tank top, gray sweatpants, a backpack and no shoes. His direction of travel and destination are currently unknown.
