On February 6, Lisa Yeager, candidate for Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge, was honored to attend the Boy Scouts of America, Withlacoochee District 2026 Soaring Eagle Award Dinner as a guest of William J. Grant, Esquire, Event Vice Chair.

The evening celebrated two outstanding leaders—Blaise Ingoglia, Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, and Steve Lamb—for their lasting contributions to the district and the broader community. The event was chaired by Michael Bays, whose leadership brought together civic, business, and community voices from across the region.

For Lisa, evenings like this are more than ceremonial—they’re essential. As a candidate for Circuit Court Judge serving Citrus, Hernando, Sumter, Lake, and Marion Counties, she believes that effective justice begins with understanding the people, organizations, and values that shape our communities. Listening, learning, and standing alongside those who invest in youth, service, and leadership directly informs the thoughtful, balanced decision making required on the Circuit Court bench.

District 5 encompasses Citrus, Marion, Hernando, Lake, and Sumter Counties, and as a candidate for Circuit Judge, Lisa Yeager is committed to proudly representing every one of these communities.

This Thursday morning, Lisa attended a Marion County Business Leaders Breakfast, where she had the opportunity to meet and engage with local business owners who warmly welcomed her and shared insights about the issues that matter most to their community.

It was an especially meaningful day to be in attendance, as the breakfast featured a special presentation by Arnette House, an organization dedicated to strengthening youth and families through programs and services across Marion, Lake, Sumter, Citrus, and Hernando Counties. Arnette House works closely with family courts throughout the district, making the presentation particularly relevant to Lisa’s commitment to supporting families and the communities they call home.

Supporting youth, strengthening families, and listening to the people who live and work here are at the heart of building a judicial system that truly serves its interests.

Lisa embarked on her journey as a felony attorney, appearing before Judge Howard, with whom she forged a deeply impactful professional bond over many years of passionate courtroom advocacy. Beyond his esteemed judicial stature, Lisa discovered that Judge Howard possessed a profoundly compassionate heart and an unparalleled understanding of the law, coupled with immense pride in nurturing the legal community. He was revered for mentoring young attorneys and generously sharing his vast expertise with anyone eager to learn. As Lisa pursued her own judicial aspirations, Judge Howard imparted invaluable wisdom, counseling her to remain authentically true to herself. The local legal community widely regards Judge Howard's legacy as a profound loss, with Lisa being a testament to the transformative impact he had on her career, acknowledging that practicing before him empowered her to become a more skilled and compassionate attorney.

The Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida is deeply saddened to announce the passing of the Honorable Richard A. Howard on January 29, 2026, at age 72.
Judge Howard served the Circuit with dedication for more than two decades following his appointment to the bench in 2000.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Lisa had another successful evening at the Seller, planning additional campaign activities. It was a pleasure to see our friend Joe Eder, the ten-time National Tractor Pull Champion. Lisa is looking forward to the next few months of meeting new individuals and discussing her qualifications to serve as your next Circuit Court Judge.

We are proudly announcing on behalf of our colleague, Lisa Yeager, who has just announced her candidacy for Fifth Circuit Judge, Group 27. In 2024, when Lisa ran for Citrus County Judge, she came within approximately 100 votes of winning… One of the closest races in the county’s history!

Many of her friends and fellow attorneys encouraged her to try again. They know that she is just the type of person we need in our judiciary – hard working, fair, and respectful to all. She can use her over 25 years’ experience in the courtroom to ensure that justice is fairly administered.

As a sixth generation Floridian, who has practiced in the Fifth Judicial Circuit her entire legal career and raised her children here, she knows our area, our problems, and our people very well.

Lisa Yeager is offering the people of the Fifth Circuit these qualifications:

Juris Doctorate, University of Florida

26 years’ experience as practicing attorney

* 10 years in private practice handling criminal defense, family law, dependency, civil litigation, and small claims

* 16 Years as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting cases locally

Over 50 jury trials

The primary election is August 18. This is a five-county circuit with over 908,748 registered voters.
