Look what just rolled in to Foote Park!

A modular little office building (something like the one in the picture) will be arriving at Foote Park later this month! Books and shelving will be moved in the first week of September, then the mad shelving will begin! We hope to be open by the end of September. Stay tuned for opportunities to help!

Good news! The Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust has approved the award of $80,000 to the Inwood Public Library to construct an new library. It's a welcome bright spot after the destruction in our temporary location, and now the destruction of the old!

Thanks to so many of you for the loan of your totes, fans, and dehumidifiers! A large gathering is planned in the Bethlehem Lutheran fellowship hall on Sunday, so please pick them up sometime this week. Thank you!!!!

It's come to my attention that Libby isn't working for our patrons right now. The State Library of Iowa has a workaround for this that will be implemented WEDNESDAY, 7/29. Meanwhile, if you suspend your holds you will keep your place in line. Sorry for the inconvenience!

We are still working on long term plans for the library. For now, please return books to Rock Rapids Public Library, Larchwood Public Library, or Rock Valley Public Library, and thank them for their help!

A huge shout out to the Inwood Fire Department for tarping the stacks last night, Mayor Becca Bixler for finding shelter for the books, the City of Inwood for rallying volunteers, and the 50 plus amazing people who moved the library contents out of the humidity today!
