City of Inwood Inwood is a friendly community with the quaintness of small town living. Welcome to the city of friendly people! Inwood Iowa is located in western Lyon County.

Inwood is a community with the quaint beauty of small town living, just minutes away from large entertainment venues and big city shopping. Many beautiful churches, newly constructed water park, and close proximity to lakes and nature areas make Inwood a great place to raise a family. Inwood has a population of approximately 820 residents. This small town at the crossing of Highway 182 and Highway

18 features many businesses, including a bank, clinic and nursing care facility, restaurant and the Horizons Development Organization. The City Government is led by Mayor Gerald Brands and City Council members- Kyle Knobloch, Mark Timmerman, Becca Bixler, Chad Evans and Rick Rozeboom. Carol Vander Kolk serves as City Clerk. Natalie Bohlke is an office assistant to the City Clerk and Administrator of the Inwood Aquatic Center.

Established in 2011, Calico Skies Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned destination located between Inwood, Iowa and Canton, South Dakota.

Calico Skies is a family-owned vineyard and winery located between Inwood, Iowa and Canton, South Dakota. We produce and bottle our wines on-site using cold-hardy grapes grown for the Midwest climate. In addition to award-winning wines, we offer wood-fired pizza, live music, weddings, private events, seasonal festivals, and community gatherings in a scenic hilltop setting overlooking the Iowa countryside.

We love creating a place where people can gather to celebrate life’s moments — from weddings and anniversaries to Sunday afternoons with live music and pizza on the patio. Our venue hosts events year-round including wine dinners, music festivals, paint nights, car shows, and seasonal celebrations.

🚧 NOTICE: ROAD CLOSURE – INWOOD TRACTOR PULL 🚧

The road closure is now in effect (6/5/26). The Inwood Tractor Pull begins promptly at 5:00 PM. The tractor pull is free will donation and proceeds go back to the Inwood fire and rescue.

Please avoid the following areas:

• West Jefferson Street from Maple Street west to Church Street
• South Cherry Street from West Madison Street to West Church Street

Please use alternate routes and plan accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Inwood Tractor Pull!

Faces of Inwood: Meet Nick & Marisa Meester!

Nick has lived in Inwood his entire life, Marisa moved here 8 years ago when they got married. Their girls Henlee (2.5 years old) and Evelyn (1.5 years old) have only ever known Inwood as home too. The people of Inwood are an amazing part of why they love this community - like family, always welcoming and kind. As a family, they love that they are able to enjoy the parks, library and several businesses in town. Nick has worked with many of the businesses in Inwood, as he still does today. He feels as though he hit the jackpot when it comes to the role models in Inwood he grew up learning under. Marisa especially enjoyed working at Rustic Oak Brands. She got to know so many more community members and made forever friendships with coworkers during her time there. Nick and Marisa will be welcoming their third child in June so Marisa hung up her barista title to prepare for baby. The top of their family’s favorites list HAS to be the Fourth of July festivities - in which Nick loves to serve on as a committee member.
