Our youth Fire Cadet today had a great training drill covering several topics our goal is always to be good citizens and good leaders.

The crews covered leadership skills and planning

Proper flag edict, folding, raising and Honor guard protocol

Ending with Wildland hose practice, and proper re rolling and packing.

We are extremely proud each of them and very lucky to have our youth cadets, they continue to give up 3 hrs on the weekends after a week in school to learn, and they are dedicated to supporting the community.

The City of Ione Fire Department wants to remind everyone

SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW !

With the return of students, our downtown area will see significantly increased traffic during morning drop-off (beginning around 7:30 a.m.) and afternoon pick-up (around 2:00 p.m.).

Drivers: Please plan extra time for your trips. Expect slower movement through downtown and approach all crosswalks and intersections with heightened caution. The sun can create strong glare at several crossings—slow down and be prepared for reduced visibility.

Everyone: Watch carefully for children walking or crossing the street. Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and give them plenty of space.

Patience and attentiveness keep our kids safe. Thank you for helping protect the children of our community.

Fire fighters from the City of Ione Fire Department and Jackson Valley Fire District had a great multi company drill as part of our weekly Department Trainings.

We preformed Water tender portable tank deployment, Rural Aerial ladder truck operations with limited water, and ending with setting up Master stream operations (water canon) which felt great due to the outside temperature still between 94-99 degrees. During the drill.

Our personnel are dedicated to providing the highest level of service which requires continuous training regardless of the weather.

We want to remind everyone to drink plenty of water and stay in the shade during theses hot days, and remember that Fire station 2 is the city's cooling station if you are in need. Stay safe.....
