Fire Fighters from the City of Ione and Jackson Valley Fire were dispatched last night with our OES engine to the Lighting Complex near Double springs Nevada as part of an OES Taskforce, as part of the California OES Master mutual aid system.

Fulfilling a critical need in California! 🧑‍🚒 Jackson Valley Fire Protection District received four new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBAs), replacing malfunctioning equipment and providing the breathable air firefighters depend on to safely operate in smoke-filled environments.

A reminder from Jackson Valley Fire Protection District: All fireworks are illegal in rural Amador County—including “safe and sane” fireworks.

One spark can change everything. Fireworks can start wildfires, threaten homes and livestock, injure people and pets, and leave the person responsible facing citations, fines, and potential liability for fire costs.

Please celebrate safely and leave the fireworks to the professionals. Help us protect our homes, our wildland, and each other.
