City of Ione Town Hall Meeting

Notice of Town Hall Meeting – Community Discussion

On Monday, July 20th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Evalynn Bishop Hall, the City of Ione will conduct a Town Hall meeting open to the public. The Town Hall Meeting is intended to provide an open forum to respectfully address questions and concerns of residents. We would like to hear from you. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions, and Council Members and staff will be able to respond in this forum. No formal action will be taken by the City Council at this meeting. Guidelines for the Town Hall Meeting will be available before it begins. Discussion topics are expected to include: the Amador County Grand Jury Report; Audits, Budgets, and City Finances; City Policies & Procedures; CFD Special Taxes; City Attorney Fees; New Police Station Headquarters; and Howard Park.

The City welcomes participation from all attendees.

City Statement Regarding Special Tax B Calculations

The City of Ione has become aware of misinformation circulating social media regarding the recent Special Tax B increase and the methodology used to determine it .

To ensure transparency and accuracy, the City requested a formal review from DTA, the independent financial consulting firm that conducted the tax study. DTA has officially confirmed that all calculations for the Maximum Special Tax B amounts are completely accurate and free of errors. The City remains committed to providing our community with verified, fact-based information.

📢 Community Alert: PG&E Energy Bill Relief Programs Available!!

Are you behind on your energy bills? PG&E has announced that limited funds are still available for several assistance programs designed to help eligible customers.

Key Relief Programs Include:

Match My Payment Program: Offers a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $1,000 to help pay past-due bills.

REACH Program: Provides income-eligible customers with a bill credit of up to $800 based on their past-due balance.

Additional support is also available through programs like CARE, FERA, LIHEAP, and AMP. Customers may also qualify for Medical Baseline if they have specific medical energy needs.
