Matthew Richard, our 21 year old son and hero, was killed in Afghanistan while conducting combat operations. On June 9, 2011, Matthew, a team leader, moved his team to safety before he attempted to investigate an IED. The IED exploded and hours later we were notified that Matthew had been killed in action. As any parent might understand, losing a child has been and will always be the worst nightma

re any parent can face. Our one and only worry is that Matthew will be forgotten. To ensure that the death of our son does not end in only sorrow and pain, we've established this foundation to bring help to those who are still here.
