Congratulations to the remarkable students from City High, Liberty High, and West High School who were honored with the 2026 Youth Human Rights Awards by the Iowa City Human Rights Commission!

As proud members of the Mariam Girls’ Club, these students were recognized for their courage, leadership, and advocacy while supporting young Muslim students in our community. We are proud to celebrate their impact and dedication to making a difference!

Are you headed to one of the Iowa City Community School District high school graduations at Xtream Arena this Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? 🎓 Families and friends of Tate High School, City High School, Liberty High School, and Iowa City West High School graduates:
⌚ Allow extra travel time and plan for traffic delays.
🚘 There are three ways to enter the Iowa River Landing from 1st Avenue:
1. Iowa River Landing Place
2. E. 9th Street
3. E. 7th Street
🚫 Do not use the roundabout in front of Xtream Arena to drop off passengers; this backs up traffic. Instead, use the designated drop-off lane on E. 9th Street.
🚫 Vehicles parked illegally may be ticketed and towed.
🚶 Watch for pedestrians, follow the signs, and drive safely.
ℹ️ Note Xtream Arena's bag policy: 4.5" x 6.5" or smaller, or clear bags up to 12" x 6" x 12", or 1-gal. clear freezer bag or smaller. See the graduation guide at www.xtreamarena.com

Special shoutout to West High students Shanza Sami and Winston Fan on being named Regeneron STS Scholars! Both earned a spot among the top 300 scholars in the international Regeneron Science Talent Search for 2026, and were the only two students from Iowa to achieve this recognition this year.
