CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! On September 11, TRAIL will join thousands of Americans on the National Day of Service and Remembrance by helping older adults throughout Johnson County. From 1 to 3 PM that Friday, teams of volunteers will complete yard and garden projects at the homes of TRAIL members who need an extra hand. A few hours of volunteer service not only improves the appearance and safety of a home but also provides reassurance that someone cares. For more info and to sign up, just click the link below. Aging is full of questions. Find the answers with help from Heritage Area Agency on Aging! In this monthly series, Heritage staff will be onsite tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 20, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Coralville Public Library, 1401 5th St., Coralville. They can discuss care services, Medicaid questions, elder abuse concerns, and whatever else is on your mind. No appointment needed and there is no cost for Heritage AAA services.

TRAIL loves books and the Iowa City Public Library! Don’t miss your chance to support the Library by shopping at the Friends Foundation used book sale at the Library (123 S. Linn St.) this weekend, TODAY, Aug. 7, 3:00-7:30 PM, and Saturday, Aug. 8, 10 AM-3 PM. An assortment of fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, young adult, juvenile fiction, children’s books, DVDs, and audiobooks will be available.
