The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Iowa is to create a better future through brain injury prevention, advocacy, education, research, and support. BIAIA works to support individuals who experience brain injury, their families, friends and the professionals who support them in Iowa. Our primary service line includes Brain Injury Resource Facilitation (BIRF), a fee-free service offered by

the Brain Injury Association of Iowa to help people with brain injury and their families, caregivers, and community navigate medical and general life challenges after a brain injury. We offer support in coping with the issues of living with brain injury and transitioning back to work and the community, and we help connect individuals and families with the services and supports they may need. This page is designed to provide a space in social media for people to receive and share information about brain injury, including services, educational and training or other events hosted or approved by the Brain Injury Association of Iowa. In an effort to respect the privacy of our members we encourage members of this group to do the same. For many individuals, driving represents more than just a means of transportation — it symbolizes independence and autonomy. However, various factors such as injury, illness, orage-related changes can impact one's ability to drive safely. Occupational therapists are uniquely qualified to work in driving rehabilitation, assessing and treating changes in physical, visual and cognitive function.
