Siren Test and Extreme Heat Warning

As a reminder, the outdoor warning sirens will be tested at 10 am today.

Extreme Heat Warning now in effect through Friday along/south of I-80 corridor; Heat Advisory to the north through Thursday. Dangerous heat expected to continue with peak heat indices in the upper 90s to 105° .

The Winter Clothing Drive will be back for another year!

Volunteers are the backbone of this important community event, so before collection begins, we're putting a call out for help. Volunteers are needed Sunday, Oct. 11, through Saturday, Oct. 17, at River Community Church, 3001 Muscatine Ave. Duties will vary by day and include: set up/clean up, restocking, and assisting community members as they select items.

We also have a special need for volunteers who speak Spanish, French, or Arabic!
