Showers and storms continue to slowly move northward this morning. Lightning and locally heavy rainfall have been occurring with these storms, with rain rates up to 1-2 inches per hour. Behind these showers and storms, additional storms are developing. Any areas that see repeated rounds of heavy rain are at risk of flash flooding.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR JOHNSON COUNTY

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHEN...Through Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS

- Exceptionally high amounts of moisture will combine with
persistent lift from an area of low pressure aloft to bring
repeated heavy rain from thunderstorms.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Isolated showers and storms are expected this afternoon into tonight. Any storms that develop will be slow moving and have heavy rain, which will lead to locally heavy rainfall. Isolated damaging winds are not out of the question with any storms south of I-80.

Unsettled weather is ahead of us, with warm/humid conditions moving in. We will see shower/storm chances each day, but the best chances will be on Friday and Friday night. A few strong to severe storms are possible through Friday night.
