Local honey is a great source of antioxidants and vitamins that help strengthen the immune system. These vendors offer a variety of local honey made from honeybees here in Iowa.

We were incredibly lucky to be joined by an awesome group of volunteers from Hills Bank for United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties Day of Caring last Friday! They put together new shelving units for us, helped clean out and organize our shop and food warehouse areas, and brought nothing but good vibes while doing it! Looking for a part-time gig with a local nonprofit organization doing big things? Join the T2T team as a Route Support Associate!☀ This position is a great fit for a reliable, friendly, and organized person who enjoys working with people and is available weekday mornings.

The ideal candidate is energetic, a team player, positive and welcoming, self-motivated, and able to communicate well and manage multiple priorities. The Route Support Associate is responsible for coordinating daily food rescue routes, communicating food donor/recipient needs with staff and volunteers, data entry, stepping in to drive food rescue routes when volunteer positions are unfilled, and assisting with volunteer onboarding.

With it being Iowa City Farmers Market season, our Love Food, Fight Waste program is celebrating local food and will be highlighting market vendors throughout this season starting with GG’s Pasta!

They provide fresh pasta for local farmers markets, nine restaurants, and the three New Pioneer Co-ops. They produce in small batches to avoid food waste and their products last about two to three weeks in the fridge. All of GG’s Pasta products are vegan, egg-free, dairy-free, and pasta-tively amazing.
