What an exciting week for Alvin ISD! 🎉

Thank you to the students, staff, and administrators who gave Dr. Rhonda Mason such a warm Alvin ISD welcome as she began connecting with campuses across the district. From senior checkout celebrations at Alvin High School 🎓 to lunch visits at Shadow Creek High School 🍎, it’s been wonderful seeing those first moments of relationship-building already taking place.

The BEST time of year and ultimately the most REWARDING! Every decision we make should always lead back to one thing: STUDENT OUTCOMES. Over the past four days, I’ve had the honor of attending 4 of our 5 Alvin ISD high school graduations, and what an incredible reminder of why this work matters so much.
We celebrated MORE than:🎓 2,200+ Graduates📚 170+ Students earning Dual Degrees🇺🇸 30+ Military Enlistments💰 500+ Scholarship Recipients

To witness the excitement, the tears, the pride from families, educators, and our community was simply priceless. These moments are the result of years of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and a collective commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

As Superintendent Carol Nelson closes an incredible 30-year chapter in education, I want to personally thank her for her leadership, service, and unwavering dedication to Alvin ISD. Her impact on this district will be felt for generations to come. 💐
And now, as the baton is passed to Dr. Rhonda Mason, I am excited and hopeful for the future ahead. Leadership transitions are never easy, and the work to get us to this moment required thoughtful conversations, difficult decisions, collaboration, and a shared vision for the future of Alvin ISD.

One thing remains true: the future is BRIGHT for Alvin ISD because our students, staff, families, and community continue to show up and believe in what’s possible. 💚❤️🧡💙

Congratulations Class of 2026! Your journey is just beginning, and we are all cheering you on every step of the way! ✨

Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the “Mayoral Conversation” luncheon hosted by the
Pearland Chamber of Commerce at
First United Methodist Church, Pearland where we engaged in meaningful community dialogue alongside Former Mayor Kevin Cole and Mayor Quentin Wiltz. 🤝✨

One thing I love most about Alvin Independent School District is that our impact reaches across multiple communities — including Pearland! 🏫💚The power of collaboration between education, city leadership, businesses, and community organizations is how we continue creating opportunities for our students and families.

A huge thank you to Gathering Outreach Community Services for the invitation and for continuing to support, encourage, and believe in the vision for our city and surrounding communities. 🌟

We are building something special together… and I’m excited for what’s ahead! 🚀💫

Graduation week is HERE! Alvin ISD is actively monitoring the weather to ensure a safe and memorable experience for our students, families, and staff. At this time, all ceremonies remain scheduled as planned at Freedom Field.

Let’s celebrate the Class of 2026 together while staying weather aware and connected through official Alvin ISD updates!

GRADUATION WEATHER INFORMATION
Alvin ISD is actively monitoring weather conditions throughout graduation week for ceremonies held at Freedom Field at the Alvin ISD Heritage Complex.

At this time, all graduation ceremonies remain scheduled as planned. District staff will continue monitoring weather forecasts, lightning conditions, and radar trends throughout each event.

Please note:
- Rain alone will not delay graduation ceremonies.
- Ceremonies may be temporarily delayed if lightning or threatening weather conditions are present within the monitored safety area.
- Alvin ISD has an established weather safety and delay plan in place for graduation events.

If weather delays become necessary:
- Graduates will move to designated indoor shelter areas under staff supervision.
- Guests may be asked to temporarily evacuate the stadium until conditions are safe to resume.
- Updates will be communicated through the stadium public address system and official Alvin ISD communication channels.

Families are encouraged to monitor official Alvin ISD communication platforms throughout graduation week for updates.

We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we work to provide a safe and memorable graduation experience for our students and families.

🦁🎭 “Oh yes… the talent is REAL at Lakes Elementary Schoo!” 🎶✨

Our students are taking center stage and making Alvin Independent School District! Savannah Lakes Elementary was featured on Channel 13 News as one of four area schools selected to perform Disney’s The Lion King — and we couldn’t be more excited! 👏🏽🌟

From the stage presence to the confidence, creativity, and teamwork… this is what happens when students are encouraged to shine! 💛

A huge shoutout to our amazing students, teachers, staff, directors, and families who help bring opportunities like this to life. The arts matter, and our students are proving that in a BIG way! 🎤🦁👑

One of my absolute favorite events to celebrate each year is honoring our amazing students, staff, and families! 🎓✨

Last night, the Top 20 Graduates of the Class of 2026 were recognized and celebrated for their hard work, dedication, and excellence. What made the evening even more special was watching each student honor their most influential educator — a beautiful reminder that great teachers help shape bright futures. 🍎❤️

Our Alvin ISD Education Foundation continues to make a tremendous impact in the lives of students and educators by supporting scholarships and educational initiatives throughout our district. 📚💡

Their mission is powerful — uplifting and supporting the Alvin Independent School District family through innovative programs, educational opportunities, and strong community partnerships that inspire lifelong learning, advance educational excellence, and help build the future of public education… together. 🤝⭐

Tonight, they also highlighted the visionary Shirley Dill Brothers for her grassroots efforts in launching this incredible initiative years ago. Her vision and dedication continue to bless generations of students today. 🌟

I encourage our community members, business owners, and corporations to partner with and support this amazing organization. Every contribution helps invest in the future of our students and educators. Please consider donating by clicking the link below! ❤️👇

I’m excited to officially welcome Dr. Rhonda Mason as the new Superintendent of Alvin ISD!

Tonight, we voted to entrust her with carrying the baton of this incredible district into the future — a district that proudly serves nearly 30,000 students across 37 campuses with almost 4,000 dedicated staff members. I’m excited about the leadership, vision, and continued excellence ahead for our students, staff, and community.

Alvin ISD has a strong foundation, amazing people, and tremendous momentum, and I believe the future is bright as we continue moving forward together.
