Archery Hunt

The Iowa Falls Police Department will be conducting the proficiency testing for the Antlerless Archery Deer Hunt on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, from Noon until 2pm and again on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, from Noon until 2 pm at Sunnyside Park.
These will be the only dates the proficiency testing will be conducted. Participants must score a minimum of 70% at 20 yards with their archery equipment to pass the proficiency test. Participants must also complete the Iowa Bowhunter's Safety Education Course and/or provide a certificate of completion. The online course can be found at http://www.bowhunter-ed.com. Applications for the Antlerless Archery Deer Hunt are available at the Iowa Falls Police Department and can be picked up between 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday. Completed applications are due on September 3rd, 2025, before 4 pm. Any applications received after September 3rd, 2025, will not be accepted. The Antlerless season begins on September 20th, 2025, and runs through January 10th, 2026.

The Iowa Falls Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer.

Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree in Criminal Justice is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. Applicants not certified by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy must be able to pass the physical agility tests and Police Officer Selection Test (POST) as set forth by the ILEA.

Salary for a non-certified officer is $29.69/hr, Certified Officer Salary is $31.88/hr. The City of Iowa Falls also offers a competitive benefits package.

Applications and resumes will be evaluated upon receipt and testing if applicable will be scheduled after review of each applicant.
