Ipswich Regional Animal Control Ipswich Animal Control The Animal Control Officer is available to help citizens and emergency personnel with animal related issues both domestic and wild.

The Animal Control Officer is responsible for enforcement of Federal and State Statutes as well as Town of Ipswich Bylaws relating to animals.

UPDATE: The horses have been brought home.

Do you recognize these 3? They made their way onto 95 this morning in the area of the weigh station in Rowley. They are now under control off of 97 in Boxford, but we have no idea where they belong. Please call 978-801-4911 ext 9 ASAP.

Yesterday we received a call to Sandy Point for a red throated loon tangled in fishing line. We are happy to report the loon was not injured and was able to fly off on its own once untangled. Big thanks to the callers, our friend Erica who lent two extra hands to expedite the extraction and reduce stress, and to Thane Sanford for the great photos!

This is an excellent reminder to anyone who fishes to ensure you take all your fishing line with you, this incident was caused by about 14 inches of line and the bird was entangled around the neck, wing and leg.
