Small World

Small World We are fully licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and are committed to encouraging the intellectual development of children.

We provide an enjoyable and stimulating program designed to increase your child's knowledge and understanding of the world. Three to five year olds are active curious human beings beginning to seek their own identities. Small World provides many and varied experiences in which the child will develop a positive self-concept. it is our goal to teach children that learning is fun. We enhance self-suf

ficiency through a variety of hands-on experiences and reinforce socializing with peers and respect for others by sharing group experiences. At small world we help build a positive self image through praise and encouragement.

Work your way with your group of family and friends throughout the library on the giant gameboard. Hopefully you won’t spin and land on the black dots but will keep moving forward to the Candy Land Castle. Along the way meet Queen Frostine, King Candy, Lord Licorice, Princess Lolly and Mr. Mint and collect candy as you go.

Registration is required for groups of up to 6 people. Recommended for Kindergarten and up, but some younger children may enjoy this event. All children under eight must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

What do you see when a child is at play? Running, building, creating, pretending, these are the moments that catch our eye. But just beneath the surface, something much deeper is happening.

Play is where children develop adaptability, confidence, and problem-solving skills. It’s where they learn to navigate risk, build friendships, and trust their own ideas. It’s where their brains and bodies work together, shaping the skills they’ll carry for life.

The next time you watch a child play, remember, what’s visible is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much happening underneath!

Mealtimes in early education are more than just eating. They are rich opportunities for learning, connection, and care. When we slow down and create a calm, unhurried environment, children can engage in conversations, practise self-help skills, explore new foods, and develop social connections.

These everyday moments become powerful learning experiences where children feel valued and supported rather than rushed. By treating mealtimes as part of the curriculum, educators nurture children’s wellbeing, independence, and sense of belonging.
