BOLO! 📰📭 The St. Clair County Parks annual newsletter should be arriving in your mailbox soon. Check out our growth over the last 30 years, improvements we've made, and future projects planned for County Parks. To clarify the information on the front page, this August, an additional .4944 maintenance millage is being proposed for three years, expiring in 2027, the same year as the existing millage. So, If voters approve the additional millage, the owner of a house with an assessed value of $100,000 that currently pays approximately $50 a year will now pay $100 a year. Keep in mind, the tax is based off of assessed value not market value.

This would provide an additional $3,692,722.12 for needed maintenance of existing park infrastructure. It would also increase the local millage distribution program by $923,180.53.

To calculate your current County Parks millage rate multiply your home’s taxable value by 0.4944 and divide by 1,000. This will give you your current taxable rate. To calculate the taxable rate with the new millage multiply that number by 2. For more information of the millage and how it works, visit https://www.stclaircounty.org/Offices/961
