August training in the junk yard! Vehicle extrication and stabilization. Training on vehicle extrication keeps us sharp to help anyone trapped get out of an unstable and dangerous situation as quick and as safely as possible.

We would like to thank Holmes Recycling for letting us use their yard and supplying us with cars to be able to train.

This weekend and into the early parts of the week in coordination with our Bombardier J-5 tracked vehicle the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. We are staging for any wildland fire calls around the area.

Even our firefighters have to spend Mothers Day away to make sure our area is ready for this current weather. With the low humidity, the heat, and windy conditions we are filling our time at the station to protect our area.

If you see us be sure to stop on in and say hello. We love hearing from our friends and neighbors. We also like showing off our cool trucks!

Saturday evening we hosted our annual Department party. This was a special occasion this year with Chief Theodor serving and instructing in the fire service for his 50th year. As a token of our appreciation. Assistant Chief Reddick, and Firefighter Shavor presented Chief Theordore with a unique gift. And to the surprise of Firefighter Shavor Assistant Chief Reddick presented him with a gift for his 35 years of service to the Clinton Fire Department.

From all of us at the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. Thank you, gentlemen for your service to this department and community. We are forever grateful to serve by your side when this community needs us the most.

(Just a little background). These are old water packs Firefighter carry on their backs for fighting wild fires. These have been hand cut and fitted with a light. The service has since updated and gotten away from the brass and galvanized steel. And moved to plastic bags enclosed in a canvas pack or just a plastic pack. These packs come with a hose and a trombone to spray and pressurize water.

2024 has been a great year. We are glad to help serve this communityand we sure have fun when we can. We look forward to Nation Night Our and Fire Prevention week every year.

But this last year we responded to 132 calls. 53 of these calls being fires and rescues and 79 being medical. We put 753 hours into training. We all like to have fun, but we are always trying to gain knowledge and experience to help when the time is needed.

With a lot of the calls and needs in the Volunteer service we have to call on our neighboring departments as they do the same for us. We want to thank them for all of the assistance in 2024 we really couldn't do this without them.

2024 in the rear view we look forward to what 2025 has in store. Stay safe and thank you everyone for making the Clinton fire department what it is and what it can be.
