Dr. King reminded us that equality and compassion are powerful forces for lasting change. As we reflect on his words and actions, may we continue striving to serve others, stand up for what is right, and build stronger, more united communities.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – AI Voice Cloning Targeting Parents 🚨
The Vestavia Hills Police Department wants to warn our community about a disturbing new scam. Criminals are now using artificial intelligence (AI) to clone voices, including those of children, to make fake emergency calls to parents and guardians.
Here’s how it works:

Scammers gather audio clips of your child’s voice from social media or other sources.
They use AI to create a convincing imitation.
You receive a call claiming your child is in danger or needs urgent help, often demanding money immediately.

What you should do:
✅ Stay calm and verify the situation before acting.
✅ Hang up and call your child or their school directly.
✅ Never send money or share personal information under pressure.
✅ Report suspicious calls to VHPD immediately.
Please share this post to help protect others. Awareness is our best defense against these evolving scams.
If you have questions or need to report an incident, contact us at (205) 978-0139.
Stay safe, Vestavia Hills!
