Grantswood Community School serves approximately 400 Pre-kindergarten thru fifth grade students in Irondale and surrounding communities. The mission of our school, “developing strong relationships and a love for learning” is accomplished by involving, engaging, and equipping parents and the community to support student success. Grantswood Community School is a unique and special place, where we refer to ourselves as the “Grantswood Family”. We offer many opportunities for families to support and be involved in their child’s education and invite them to learn along with us. The faculty and staff are committed to providing opportunities for students that build character as well as prepare them academically for a lifetime of success. We are grateful for our relationships with local churches and community agencies. The Irondale Police Department, the Irondale Fire Department, Irondale Public Library, the Irondale Exchange Club, along with local churches, collaborate with us to provide students with important life lessons and opportunities to serve others. The work we do at Grantswood is a labor of love that establishes a solid foundation for the future successes of the children of Irondale.
