The 2025-2026 school year saw the start of a new home for JCIB and the Trees - our new campus for grades 6 - 12 will provide an exemplary learning environment for students and faculty for years to come. We are very grateful to the district for its continued support and to our families and teachers/staff for making the transition with us.
Change is a vital component to growth and as this school year winds down, we are saying goodbye to three individuals who have helped guide and grow JCIB over the last several years. Ms. Lisa Floyd, office coordinator, Ms. Lori Lightsey, head of school, and Dr. April Miller, IB Coordinator, are all retiring. We had a surprise party after graduation (it was such a surprise that Ms. Floyd missed it) to help celebrate their time with us. Dr. Miller will be around some this summer if you need to get help with things - Ms. Floyd and Ms. Lightsey are more likely to be in their gardens - we wish them all the best and thank them for their years of commitment and service ...they know and will carry with them the knowledge that

The end of another year; the start of a new tradition. Thank you Frau Bruce and Ms. Marsh for guiding the Robing Ceremony and the walk through the halls. The seniors were robed by their chosen teachers and took a pledge to continue as lifelong learners and individuals who will make the world a better place. It sounds simple, but it was very touching. The juniors were brought up to then take their place as leaders of the coming year. Again, simple, but there were many tears and hugs as the realization of imminent changes took hold of students. The parade through our lovely new building was punctuated by applause and cheers from the underclassmen and women and the middle schoolers. This was followed by pizza and handprints on the college banners. All in all a very good day.

It's Decision Day!
Introducing the JCIB Class of 2026!
This fine group of young adults are preparing to finish their IB experience - some of them are closing out 7 years at JCIB and all of them are excited, well, anticipating sitting for their exams and taking part in the last month's activities before the culminating event: Graduation!
They have worked hard, made lasting relationships and are ready to embark in a few short weeks for the next phase of their life's journey. We're proud of you all - It's a great day to be a Tree!

Last week was a busy week we had the Fine Arts Night (and this photographer lost those shots) but everyone had a great time strolling the halls and hearing music, songs and exploring the artwork and the engineering that was everywhere.
Earlier that same day we had the International Festival with over 50 countries! and it was also a huge success - with pictures to show some of the excitement and cultural exchange.
